Show thyselves you sneaky creepers!

.

Lately there have been a ton of new people coming out of the woodwork to leave comments on my blog.  And since my posts last week about rules for etiquette on Facebook and rules for good practice on Twitter I’ve gotten a lot of emails with introductions to people all over the world.

.

To say that I’ve been amazed with the diversity of people who read this blog is an understatement.  From trainers and coaches to doctors, chiros, physios, and fitness enthusiasts it seems that there are quite and array of people who stop by here on a regular basis.

.

First I want to extend a sincere thanks to you all for reading my stuff.  Often times I’m just pouring down thoughts off the top of my head and trying to share things as I learn and experience them.  But that isn’t the point of this post.  The point today is that I realize that for everyone who has commented and introduced themselves, there are probably hundreds that haven’t.

.

So today, if you haven’t commented before (or even if you have), take the time to drop a note here and let me know who you are.  Step out from behind your cloak of invisibility and let thyself be seen.  And to those with websites or blogs, throw down your links.  I’m sure there are many smart folks here and I think it would be a shame if we didn’t all learn from one another.

.

Leave your intro, story (yep…tell us something about yourself that isn’t totally boring and lame), and link in the comments section below!

.

  4. Hey Mark! I love your posts and the great information that you share. I’m a female powerlifter and love to glean neatly packaged info from anywhere I can. I love knowing that I can always do better and be better, it’s just a matter of figuring out how! keep up the good work. – AJ

  5. I’m 33-years old and in the midst of transforming my life by getting into shape for the first time since high school. I have a desk job, work out 4-5 times per week, and have made prudent changes to my diet (smart substitutions & portion control). I’ve lost 70 lbs. so far and have seen my strength rapidly improve. I read fitness blogs voraciously on google reader in an attempt to keep my workouts interesting and make useful tweaks to my routine. I’m not looking for perfection – I’m willing to put the time in to make up for some inefficiencies – but my goal is to keep progressing.

  6. Hi Mark and reads of Mark’s great blog,
I’m a personal trainer/coach based in Wellington, New Zealand
It’s great Mark how you share information. It allows me to learn from yours and others experiences. Which then allows me to help people get mobile and moving again more effectively. And take them to a higher level of fitness/athleticism than they would have thought.
    Thanks again

  7. @ Xavier – Thanks for the very kind comments. Always good to have a fellow Canadian reading my blog!

@ Jeff – What??? Are you messing with me?

@ Dave – You’re hilarious! Great blog by the way. If others are reading this…make sure to follow Dave in Twitter too. Funny and informative tweets that aren’t boring and self promoting all the time. Oh…and you’ll be the SECOND BEST trainer. :)

@ AJ – Totally badass! There aren’t nearly as many female powerlifters are there are males. Glad to see you’re representing them well.

@ Mike – Congrats on the weight loss so far! That’s huge! If I can do anything to be of help let me know.

@ Hamish – Great to see I have a place to stay if I ever visit New Zealand. :) Thanks for the introduction.

  8. Howdy All,
I’m Steven Rice Fitness and I’ve commented here before, but I can’t pass up an opportunity for self-promotion. I’m a personal trainer and massage therapist in Palo Alto, California. My blog is intended primarily toward clients and potential clients, and mixes information about fitness, bodywork, and my business. Every one is invited to visit even if you’re not local.

  9. Hey Steven,

Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself. I’m actually surprised more industry folk didn’t take the opportunity for shameless self promotion. :)

  10. I’m Jon, a personal trainer, powerlifter and student out of Edmonton, AB, originally from Nova Scotia. I’m currently finishing up my Kines degree at the University of Alberta.

I’m piecing together my website as we speak…easier said then done I’m discovering. I plan to blog about everything from my powerlifting pursuits to lifestyle and business topics.

Great blog Mark, it’s been a must read for awhile now. I can’t stress how important it is that we make North America top heavy (with intellect of course).

  14. Hi there Mark! I pester you all the time, but I will say hi once again.

I run a blog too (below) and am a fellow “warrior nerd.” I am completely shameless about promotion, so all of you check out my blog! Mark said to comment and plug away!

Fun factoid: I’ve been in college since 1992 (don’t hold it against me) and in my free time I love to attach myself to 4 razor sharp lines that go to an upside down parachute looking thing to pull me around the lakes here in Minnesota (and other locations) aka kiteboarding.

Keep up the great work and stay warm up there in Canada, eh. Don’t turn the heat up too much or you will melt your igloo.

    Rock on
